Used to be in the Army.

If you want to make a career out of it (20+ years) Army will give you the best opportunities and slots for promotions. However, you’re not always treated the best and leadership is sometimes toxic/worthless.

If I could do it again, I’d go Air Force. Lots of transferable skills to civilian sector when you get out, better locations for potential duty stations, and they seem to be treated better. Not that I’m a pussy and can’t deal with getting yelled at or sleeping out in the field regularly... but Army leadership often treats soldiers like children while being severely incompetent themselves.

Overall, I do miss my time serving. You’re basically paid to work out. Pay is actually pretty good considering expenses are low. You meet a lot of cool people. Meeting work standards is pretty easy as long as you’re not a retard.

Did 4 years and it was the best decision of my life,if you do enlist make sure to only sign up for 4 years on your first contract just Incase you’re not crazy about it.

I’m in the military but not American.

Individual experiences will vary. Not all militaries are the same - and not all jobs in the military have the same culture. For example... Army Infantry versus Air Force Mechanic.

I joined because it was my childhood dream. At the time, life was shitty from a TRP sort of view, and I regret doing so many things that I knew I could not let this opportunity slide.

My military offers pretty good pay compared to the Americans. We don’t have 3/4 of the bullshit Americans have to deal with, we are treated like human beings and adults, and we get plenty of benefits, leave, etc.

The only way you will make it in the military is if you want it. If you’re here just for a paycheque or whatever, that might not work out for you because you can get payed more as a civilian without having to deal with the bullshit that happens in training.

I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to join. But for everyones sake, do not join just because you wanna be “Alpha”. There is nothing Alpha about the military: you will learn a lot of RP preached traits and life habits, but you will not become a Chad without you putting in the work.
