I always had great luck this way- have three good options planned out- and see how she ends up dressing (look at the shoes). If she's dressed hot, go with the fancy restaurant and club. If she's dressed frumpy with sneakers, you've got parks, bowling, and the cool sushi spot.

As a girl, it's nice to know that someone has taken care of the logistics. Don't put it back on me. I know your intent is just to make sure your girl has a fun evening with you, but she will be happy doing whatever, honestly, and it is really a turn on to see a guy have a plan and take control of the evening.

I would pick a place and be decisive. If she likes you and the idea is halfway decent she will come out. You just have to make it sound fun.

Yes. I did this and it worked great. Pick her up at six. Beforehand, get a box or a hat or whatever. I used a cigar box. Write out different options for dinner, things you both like and even maybe some kind of activities be it a movie, mini golf and put them in the box. Have her draw them out. Then go. It will be fun and she'll think you a genius.

Take charge is good, but playful might be an idea too. Don't tell her the actual options, but ask her to choose which type of activity she'd prefer. Like if you have rock climbing and roller blading as options, ask if she prefers going fast or getting sweaty. Or tell her you have a couple of ideas, but you need to know if she's afraid of heights. Something to get her thinking, and an opportunity for some innuendo if you're clever.

normally I go to a generally lively area for drinks where there's more than one bar to go to and stuff is going on or at least the area is vibrant.

this way you don't have to have a solid plan and the date is more flexible, especially if there turns out to be something going on that you or the girl are into, or maybe even both of you are into then you can go do that

rarely does this go wrong, but I've never really don't a thoroughly thought out date before so I can't really talk about the risks of that from experience. I would imagine though that one or both of you could end up getting more fixated on the plan than the flow of the date itself which could get in the way. basically don't be afraid to ditch the plan if things are good where they are or something more interesting pops up

You can give a girl two or more options to give her the freedom of choice (it's just an illusion). The date ideas should be planned carefully and either be well deliberated or related to her liking.

Take charge and tell her where and when you're doing something. It's okay to have a back up plan in case the restaurant is closed, the bar is no fun, etc... but don't make the second option something that initially competes with the first choice. It's there just in case something goes awry.

Since you've already established the date, just say "I'll pick you up at 6" and decide when you pick her up.
