The Game is a semi-autobigraphical novel, it is not an instruction manual. It is a work of semi-fiction, in that most of the events occurred, but not necessarily when or in the way they were depicted in the book.
There is an instruction book by the same author called "The Rules of the Game." It's a series of lessons. Many people have given FRs on these lessons but nobody has gotten past Day 6.

That's because after Day 6, the training wheels come off :)

I only got as far as Day 3, I think that's where it says you should buy a new wardrobe, spend big bucks having your teeth whitened, etc.
But to be fair, the few FRs I have seen from Day 6 or so, they are already doing well.

Sounds about right. I haven't done it myself, but it seems to me that after just a few days, the guys are about ready to improve on their own, and at their own pace.

I think the first few exercises are great for guys with total AA. Like "Operation Smalltalk," it's basic. I often recommend this to beginners. Then the followup, just talk to 5 people and notice their eye color, to get you used to looking people in the eyes. These are simple and useful exercises. I'm not so sure some of the other exercises even work today, like the Moviephone wrong number exercise, hey who calls Moviephone anymore? They just look it up on the internet. Parts of the book have not aged well.

Do they stop because its hard or what? But this seems like a thing id like to bust out and do. I only got the book for what's written after the 30 days thing
Well I stopped because I didn't have the money to make radical changes to my wardrobe etc. But there were other exercises in the book that were useful. The book says not to skip ahead, it only works if you do it in sequence. Yeah right.

It's a good book, not really one that teaches seduction techniques.

The Game is not an educational text, it is a story. If you want a book that will teach you a thing or two, I recommend Magic Bullets by Savoy of Lovesystems. It's a pretty airtight method.

As a writer myself, I loved it.
It may not have nearly the level of "instruction" that you might be looking for, but it is a very compelling story, and Strauss writes in a very effective style himself.
That said, while I always understood the concepts at work in seduction, this work really helped me learn how to implement them in my own interactions with women. Now, maybe that's just a matter of "right time, right place," correlation not being causation and all that, but his voice was the voice I needed to spur my development.
What I did was I stopped by a local bookstore and read the first chapter while there to check it out. I found it immediately caught my interest and resolved "I want to read this, even if it isn't a pick-up how to maual." Unfortunately, the bookstore charged a pretty outrageous price and I didn't really like the stigma of me walking out with this book (ridiculous notion, I know) so I looked it up on Amazon and bought it for considerably less than they were charging. You might consider doing the same.

My local library had it. Just read it in December, great read. inspirational and worth the buy for reference. don't lend it out or you won't get it back, or just check it out for free

It's basically an auto-biography with some relatively useful tips throughout.
I've learnt far more from this subreddit than the book. It has some tips, but nothing I haven't read here.
It's not as organised as The Mystery Method.
More of a reader's book than a guide.
But as always, it's useless in some key areas.
"I ran the usual ESP test, Cube test, DHV'd, we talked for hours, I got her number and we left. Mystery was..." etc etc etc.
So...no description anywhere in the book about what to talk about to women.
Good for a broad overview. Useless for specific areas of PUA.
