I was wondering if any of you have ever had any experience in writing a romantic letter or anything, for a lack of a better word, faggy like that?

I ask because I was thinking, with non cold approaches how this can work as a way to move past the friend barrier or to eliminate the idea of just being friends with an acquaintance or classmate. It is a high risk thing to try, and it must be done delicately in order to not be put on r/creepyPMs

In case you were wondering, yes I have done things like this before, and I have had it go in both positive and negative directions. I will in fact tell you a few of my experiences with this.

My first time trying this was before I really had any experience with women at all (I'd still say I'm far from being a vet at this stuff) and it worked out fantastically. I knew her through a mutual friend and she used to come to me with all her problems classic "friend-zone" crap. One day I just straight up told her how lovely I thought she was, that it was a shame her boyfriend treated her like he did and boom, I got a date. We didn't see each other in person for a while after that date because we lived 40 miles apart. Anyways I wrote her a letter describing what I thought of her, and sent it. It was pretty stupid now that I look back on it but guess what? It worked out, soon she was girlfriend and seeing each other every weekend and fooling around, at the time I was a no sex before marriage guy so we didn't go all the way, but we enjoyed it while it lasted.

The second time I tried this out, I did come off as a creep and got blocked from a girl's facebook. The issue was I wasn't delicate enough with my wording, learned from it and moved on.

The most recent time I tried it, there was a girl in a class of mine that is easily one of the 5 hottest women I've ever seen. I kept freezing and could never talked to her. One day after class I thought I'd give it a try, I found her on facebook. Sent a message telling her yeah I'm in your class, made sure to let her know I'm not a stalker, just shy, and then told her exactly what I thought. The response was priceless, exactly what I'd hoped from it. She said "Yes I am in your class! You're the best man right? ;) (class introductions) I'm a little lost for words, I'm always in a rush to get to my next class but walk me there, I don't mind!", etc.

We had a few more conversations over facebook and even decided on going to get coffee. But I got busy and nervous and didn't follow through. I'm sure she was frustrated, wondering why I didn't make any more moves. But you see, initially it worked out.

So, like I said this is just my experience with love letters, etc. but this is a small sample size with different results from each interaction. I wondered what all of your experiences have been with things like that.

So far, here's what I have gathered.

  1. Don't go straight for this one, meet her normally if you can, this is more for friend-zone type scenarios and classmates that maybe you waited too long to say hi to.

  2. Be delicate, word it too strong or don't get her guard down first and you're sure to be labeled just another creep.

  3. Follow through if it goes well! You're getting the reward for taking the risk, now just seal the deal!

I'm sure there are a few other things that go into this, such as physical appearance, your grasp of the English language, etc.

Anyways I am interested to hear your similar stories or comments in regards to this stuff.

TL;DR: Read it or don't.
