This is among the great words of wisdom I received from an older gentleman last Saturday.

While 3 of my friends and I were out at the local bars this weekend we met this older guy who was dead set on pushing us to mingle more. He was clearly a regular at the bar we were at, and he befriended us almost as soon as we sat down. Among my favorite quotes from him that night are:

"See these girls here? They're out to meet guys like you, they want' to talk to you! So go talk to them!"

"Stop being fucking stupid and sitting at the bar, go talk to people!"

"They're out here to get fucked man, you know that right?"

"It's not about what you wear, or anything, it's about who you are, and you're the exact people that they want to meet, so go talk to them!"

He was awesome, in fact he even went as far as to introduce some of the regular women there to us and introducing the off-duty bartenders to us. It gave us all a big confidence boost and got us into a groove, even though pickup wasn't our goal that night, this guy got us going. He wouldn't let us get away with not talking to girls and gave each of us a personal pep-talk with his impressions of us, it was really cool, a couple of my friends thought the guy was weird but if I could, I would go back and thank that guy for being so friendly and pushing us all to be more socially active.

As the night progressed there was a noticeably different tone to the night than our usual boys nights, we were mingling more, even after the guy was gone, we were talking to girls and hooking a lot of them.

One of my friends and I do a lot of goofy things and instead of being hesitant to do our thing we just went out and did it, and got more positive reactions than I would have expected. We made up lame dance moves on the spot and went around giving people weird facts, and we enjoyed it, we got a few groups of girls to invite us to sit with them by doing our thing. We had girls coming up and admiring our guts to dance like we were and ask to dance with us. I didn't break my recent dry spell but we both definitely got back to attracting women and being fun and interesting people.

This may not be a great story to you all, but it was great for me and I figure somebody will get something out of it. I know I want to keep his advice as my mantra when I go out now.
