I have always been the funny guy of most circles and approaches.
There is a very simple fix to it, make your jokes flirtacious, kino like hell when you get a positive reaction to your jokes, and use what you got to tease. Not all of us were born with the body of adonis, some got to learn how to own other things, sometimes that may be humor. If you can sculpt your humor to work for you not against you it will be disarming, and easily score you DHV in any crowd. Everyone loves the funny guy, it is up to you to show them the reason why that is supposed to be a double entendre.

We assume, of course, that you're implying that success with women is eluding you. Otherwise, why change a good thing.

But yes, being a non-stop clown is not necessarily helpful. Sooner or later in your process, you may have to dial it back a bit and shift gears.

There is no magic balance that you should know about. This is one of those things that you'll have to play with a little bit in order to calibrate.

Definitely. The general rule I follow is to be funny on my terms. If someone asks you to perform something, just refuse. Make jokes, playfully tease people and make people laugh- but when you want to. Don't become a clown that performs on command.

Like others have said, you are falling into "dancing monkey" mode. You simply cannot be just funny. Making girls laugh is huge, but you gotta use it to seduce, not entertain indefinitely.

Show her you're not afraid to be serious. Ask yourself if you're comfortable being either serious or firm. Do some role playing where you practice a situation where being serious would be appropriate over being funny, and try to find the value in that. Most girls love humor because it's fun, and not boring. But humor all the time can come across as a veil hiding something or indicate insecurities.
