Since I've gotten to college, I've definitely began to come out of my shell. I speak to all types of people more and that is something I'm very happy about. Now, I'm not the greatest with girls, but when they get to know me I've gotten a lot of compliments on how I'm a really nice person/cool/etc (all from girls I'm not really attracted to, if that matters) I really don't have a lot to talk about with girls either, since I have mostly male interests, not gender-neutral (sports, video games, shit like that)

I want to take the next step... I want to begin to approach women on my own, and I'm at the point where I think I'm ready, but I just do not know what to say!!! I can't imagine myself stopping a girl on the side walk and asking her what her major is or how her day is going, because that would be kind of weird. I guess I'm of average looks if that matters too, not like I'm going to stop a girl on the street based on looks alone, lol.

Basically what I'm asking is what can I say on approaching girls to get them to start a conversation, and not be perceived as annoying or a nuisance by asking basic generic questions. I've never approached a girl on my own either, so any suggestions would be great..
