This a great share OP, I had a very similar situation happen to me my last year of high school. All through my school years I didn't date or pursue anyone and just assumed when the time was right it would all just click. But when finally met a girl who I cared about a lot and also shared similar interest with, I didn't know what to do it was embarrassing for everyone involved. I forced moments and I was overly eager and needy over texts and messages which forced any interest she had in me out the window. Leaving me a prom king with a date who would rather dance with another guy the whole night. I don't blame her for anything, when I look back she tried her best to make it work early on and by prom night I was just pumping life and money into a corpse, something all my closest friends could see clearly.

I was never terrible with girls I just didn't see a need to pursue them correctly and ended up not knowing what to do when the right girl came along. Immediately afterwards I lost my virginity to the first girl I actually tried to seduce, a Russian foreign exchange girl. Plus I learned how to actually be aware of everything I'm doing when I'm pursuing a girl and how it comes off to her. I was too afraid or absentminded to try so my first step out of my comfort zone was me falling, now I've built up my skills and started actually attracting women I find interesting. Never be afraid to start or try again after failing!
