Hey guys and gals: I'm going to China in a couple weeks. Does anyone have any experiences there you're willing to share?

Spent a week in Qingdao a few years back, so if where you're going is anything like that, do yourself a favor and make sure you keep a travel packet of toilet paper on you at all times.

Start off with source: been living in Taiwan for the past 5 years...its culture is close enough to Chinese for you to relate to this.

Lol no. Don't worry about that. Asia in general has amazing night life, so you should be fine for both locations. Night markets are generally the main emphasized event for foreigners to go to. You can find anything there...guns, fried crickets, pastries in the shape of dicks etc. Literally anything. Damn fire hazards is what they are though.

Clubs and shopping malls are generally open pretty late as well. They usually play EDM songs too so you'll be fine in terms of music.

Regarding cuisine, most people enjoy Chinese fine dining (hot pot, dim sum, etc). Street food may require you to be a bit more adventurous, but it's also an opportunity to impress locals. I recommend a more stable stomach however.

And of course girls. The rumours are pretty damn accurate, Chinese girls in general love foreigners. You'll probably be eyed a lot, and if your hair is blonde or some shit, be prepared for people wanting to touch it. Sometimes they don't even ask...

In general you should have a fairly easy time, and a helluva lot of fun as well.

I befriended a chinese guy from high school (full international student) and he took me "asian clubbing" where all the expats hang out. For every 1 asian girl who'll give you the time of day (if you're not asian) there's about 100 who don't even want to speak with you. This could be just because it's Melbourne and they're expats so they "feel" like the odd ones out and could be scared. Maybe it's different in China for them but the expat girls here don't really wanna have anything to do with white boys.

My man.. first of all, I am Mexican and went to the American International School of Guangzhou for high school. Night life is the best there! There are a shit ton of hot European models there as well, the best thing is they are not accustomed to being approached. I would recommend going out to Baby Face club and going to other clubs around the area (83 Chang Di Da Ma Lu (Yan Jiang Lu)) Note: I haven't been back in 3 years. If you do not get lucky, go to a massage parlor and look for any massage that costs 138 yuan (basically means that you will get a happy ending). I guarantee you will have a great time- just get out of your comfort zone. China is very safe as well.
