TLDR: Started from scratch 3 weeks ago and approached about 70 girls. Got 7 numbers; 4 never responded, and only went on my first date yesterday with a really cute girl I wouldn't have been able to meet on Tinder/Bumble. I am exhausted, but happier than ever.
I'm going through a divorce at age 27 (her decision not mine). It really hit me hard how needy I was the entire time, and how incredibly insecure I was for the past couple years thinking she was the best I could ever get in life. I immediately kicked into gear and started getting on Bumble, but to no one's surprise it was the most awful experience. I think I lasted 3 days before deleting it off my phone, and jumping on this community. The videos that seemed to resonate the most was Tom Torero, and I really wanted to credit my knowledge in case others want to get started: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-Sehh-yD-c
The first thing I want to say about daytime game is how fucking hard it is. Everyone has seen the Simple Pickup, and I thought wow it looks incredibly easy. But what they don't show is the volume of rejections (at least and especially in the beginning). Granted I go for the 8's, 9's and 10's, but pretty much all of them walk off immediately after delivering the opener. My opener is some variation of "Excuse me... I just wanted to say, I think you're really lovely." I then stack with some assumption based on what they're doing (shopping, vacation, work). Those stack assumptions are fantastic since I work in a really dense tourist area in Los Angeles. However, even with this method, I have a hard time keeping them there. Usually they give a quick response to correct me, and then says sorry and walks away. I've gotten lucky with one girl, where she asked me for directions and I told her she was lovely - she was really flattered and straight up offered me her number.
The interesting thing is, of the girls that I can get to fully stop, my statistics look much better. I think of the 70 girls I've approached in the last few weeks, only about 15 or so were full stops and ended up with a conversation - the rest just walked straight off, or thanked me for the compliment before walked off. That gives me hope, since that means I was able close and get a number from at least half of the girls that I could get to stop and then have a conversation with.
However, today really burnt me out. It was just rejection upon rejection, with absolutely no conversations whatsoever. I think I had better days when I was just starting out at least I could squeeze in some conversations. In fact, a couple of girls were outspokenly annoyed at me for even approaching them today. I got so burnt out by the end of the day, and feel completely mentally exhausted. I still believe in the system, but man today was rough...
I think a few issues I'm currently working on is a more dedicated stop. I tend to stop the girls that are coming towards me and start getting their attention within earshot - which I feel like is enough space. I pause and direct my shoulders to them, smile, the whole works, but it doesn't seem like it's enough or I'm not resonating my presence enough that it's effective. I have tried a few where I ran up in front of them like the video, and I have to say even with a small sample size I think it works better. Though, the run and stop ones take more energy from me and I'm still new to this... I want to increase the number of approaches turned conversations, and a big issue is getting them to give me any time. I don't know whether to accept the fact that most of them just walk right off because that's the reality of the system or it's something I'm doing.
Long story short, I really think daytime game can work and I can see the potential in it working really well. I've seen my glimmer of hope, despite the sheer volume of rejection. I would love to hear your thoughts on my initial numbers and the way I'm approaching it to see if I'm headed the right direction. This shit is addicting, exhausting, but amazingly fun when I can get the conversation in!
