Sounds to me like the girl you were interested in became insecure from the lack of attention and your flirting with her friends? Could explain why she said she didn't know where she had you. Your last paragraph also suggests that this girl doesn't get daily attention from guys (you say she's not "hot"), which would explain why lack of attention makes her insecure instead of more interested. The girls that aren't used to attention from guys tend to need more reassurance, they don't find the lack of attention intriguing/exciting.

Finally, this is just speculation, but I would guess that she had talked about you to the other two girls before bringing them along. Getting less attention than them might be a bit humiliating to her? It's important to entertain her girlfriends, but you have to strike the right balance and let it show which of the girls you are on a "date" with.

Why not just put your actual personality out there but still keep in mind the fundamentals. Don't be over needy, outcome independent, say what comes to mind, some kino.
