Should you avoid the word "date" when being direct?

Sometimes when you use the word Date, it forces the woman to consciously evaluate whether or not she wants to be in a relationship with you. This may make her feel pressured. I prefer to just hang out.

it doesn't matter what you use to label the excuse to meet up. saying you want to date, hang out, hook up, kick it, your actions on the hang out are what defines the relationship.

i don't even label it. i just ask her when she is free this week and say cool we'll grab sushi on thursday, pick you up at 8.

if you tell a woman you want to hang out with her and during the hang out you are holding hand and flirting and you kiss her, are your intentions not clear?

I like to say "date" to remove any ambiguity.

That said, it is true that the word puts pressure on her. I do everything I can to remove that pressure. I make her qualify herself to me, and I tell her I'm really busy, so I can't hang out all the time, etc... I basically let her know "yeah it's a date, but I'm not going to get really needy."

I always use "Date". It forces your frame onto the situation.

It won't hurt you, only help.

i usually say get together, but i make it pretty obvious that it is for romantic purpose.

I think you should say what amuses you. I often tell girls in a self amusing way that "this is our first date omg" lol. Using the word "date" can help to make it not friend-to-friend too.

After meeting someone new I like to meet for coffee, a date is too high of a jump with someone I just met.

I usually meet women in social settings, we talk for a bit, anywhere between 15 min to 30 min; then on purpose I have to go and set up to meet again to continue the conversation, therefore we meet for coffee.

Last week I meet a new woman and we talked about some weird movies that we both like, so this week we're meeting for coffee and then we're going to see a movie together. By the way, the movie is Nymphomaniac: Vol. I.
