Don't make assumptions. Approach her and swap names. Say hello to her by name a few times in the next week. Notice a few things about her that are unique to see if you have anything in common.

Don't dwell too much on her, be busy with yourself and your life that is already going well enough. Maybe invite her to something you do with other friends but don't worry if she says no. There are many girls.

Just be content that she looked, that's nice but by itself means nothing.

Probably smiled because she did wanted you to notice her, and then she thought "ok that was awkward, just staring each other for a few seconds" and she thought it was funny. At least ive done that a few times lol

On the gym, i notice a girl looking at me, and she just locks her eyes on mine and i do the same, eventually it gets too ridiculous for me and i just smile to myself, then talk to her with whatever bullshit excuse.
