I'm a very effeminate looking male. I just moved to a much smaller borderline white trash area as far as i'm concerned. Everyone here seems to be very closed minded. Listen to old rock and country, drive big trucks and get plastered off cheap beer. Non-accepting of anyone different.

Other then the general attitude of the people they're welcome to do and live how they please. I obviously am a bit prejudiced because I am threatened by this place because I'm not some 6'2" bearded country boy.

Every single person I've met out here has assumed that I am gay because of how I dress, talk and act. Someone yesterday said that I acted too happy and looked to clean shaven to be straight and I get a lot of glances that don't leave me feeling comfortable.

Most women seem to want nothing to do with me here and frankly, I haven't found anyone i'd really be interested in either. I did fine where I came from because I fit in there. They had nice clubs and lounges and people with pretty dresses and nice button ups and ties! Here, the only button up i've seen is tattered plaid.

How am I suppose to deal with an area I'm not meant for? Conform? Not go out/take a break? Try to blast through it?

I will only be here for the next 6 months but can't leave early. I've checked meetup.com and similar to try to find people with similar interests and tbh they're just not here.
