I wrote a post a while back on a method I thought of which I called "consider it dead". The basic overview of it was to not text the girl after the first date and move on. The idea was that if you made a lasting impression on the date she would want to hit you up at some point to meet up again. I tried this on one girl, she didn't end up texting me back. I don't know if wanting to pursue after a first date is a good idea or bad idea but what I do know is this: I met another girl a while back and had a decent first interaction. I set up something and took her number but she flaked out on me. I tried to reschedule but she didn't respond to my text. Two days later I text her and she replies, we manage to set up something for tomorrow. I'm thinking that if I didn't send that text she would have never hit me up, she said she's been busy with a lot of work lately. This is only the first date though so it's not really applicable to my method. After this first date I'm not sure if I should do my "consider it dead method" again or send the usual post date text the night of. I might try to seed the next date towards the end of the first date and then see if I can follow up with firm plans over text post date. Hopefully it works out and even if it doesn't I'll have more insight about this. I'm hoping that after the date everything doesn't fizzle out and she loses interest like what has been happening to me a lot in the past. And hopefully she doesn't just flake out again
