[FR] Part: I'm taking an English presentation class at college and today was the first day of class. The Lecturer wanted us to do short self presentations and sell ourselves to the class. The first presentation was from an HB8 and she presented herself in a very good fashion. She said she is interested in programming languages even though she isn't studying computer science. Oh what a coincidence? I do! She also said she is into mountain biking. Oh what a coincidence? Me too! She also invited anyone in the class to go mountain biking with her if anyone was interested. She is practically begging to be gamed right? Only if I was a PUA. Sigh! No wait, what was I thinking. Months worth of /r/Seduction started talking in mind. It was like you guys were commenting to my thoughts collectively. "Go for it champ(or go for it you pussy), you can do it!" So I volunteered to go next after a couple of more presentations. I am normally a hilarious person myself if I say so. Haha. Anyway, I did a fairly good presentation with jokes, in which I seemed very confident, even though I was nervous. The Lecturer asked the class if I seemed nervous and they said no. Then he called me out on it saying I was nervous but I managed to hide it by looking confident and making jokes. Anyways during the presentation, I called out on her and said: "I will take you up on that cycling offer." After class I went to her to really do what I said. She first said: "I gotta ask something to the Lecturer." and made me wait like 30-45 seconds. Then when she came back, I asked for her number to set up a day to go cycling. She was taken aback for a little while, but then she gave me her number anyways. We parted ways and after 10 mins I sent her an sms with a joke from my presentation and asked if she had time to go cycling on Saturday. The answer was a bit more receptive saying: "Yeah, why not? But I can tell you later if I am free." to which I replied "Sure".

Lesson Part: So in the end I went for it today and got a number and immediately felt better. My mood went up instantly. That alone is a small but important achievement. I want to thank you all for this subreddit, because without it I would have never went for it. I am thinking of calling her on Thursday-Friday instead of sending an sms, because I gotta be a man and call her up.

Question Part: I want to ask what is the best course of action in this situation and also in any future situation, in which girls seem half flaky half receptive.
