For about 15 years of my life I was a Jehovah's Witness. They held me back for years and was brainwashed pretty bad, up until about a year ago.
Being a JW really made me pretty anti-social and socially awkward. I had plenty of opportunities in HS to go out with some girls but was always scared, was always scared of getting in trouble.
Browsing this reddit has been helping me a lot. I've been working on improving myself and grow as a person and do stuff I had always wanted to do! Feels good! There are no strings on me!!

So this past Saturday I finally decided it was time to go out. Went to check this bar out and was waiting for the bartender, while waiting for the bartender there was a cute girl next to me. I was thinking of a million reasons not to approach her but I needed too! Few minutes later bartender still hadn't served us and she turns around and says
"He's taking so long, why is he taking so long!"
We start talking and eventually get her name. She takes her shot and goes downstairs.
I didn't follow and started dancing by myself just enjoying the music.
I decided to bounce and saw her still downstairs and decided to go talk to her. She was telling me how she's only been in the city for 6 months and I told her I'd be glad to show her around. We talked for about 10 minutes until she asked her friend if they were leaving. I asked her for number and told her we should hangout and check out some of my favorite spots in the city, she gave me her number, sweet!

Next day I texted her:
me: "Hey, it's XXX, we're going on a date."
she texted a few hours later: "Wait sorry which bar did I meet you at?"
texted her back:"Ha I don't remember the name of the bar, but it was both ours first time there."

She hasn't texted me back.

Should I text her again?

Anyways even if nothing comes of it I'm still happy I was able to talk to someone and not be socially awkward like I used to be! I know I still need to improve and practice more, but I'm excited of what's to come!!
