So I (23 y.o M) just got out of a 2 year relationship a few months ago.. And I am horrifyingly rusty at flirting with girls. Somehow I number closed with a 9/10 Asian girl in the gym a few weeks ago. She was leaving for holiday a few days after so I had not been able to meet up with her, and she's had exams and assignment deadlines up until now. She seemed quite interested at first, but because I was so rusty I basically bored her and just talked to her normally without building up a lot of attraction. I realised I was being too needy / showing low value e.g. Offering days I was free instead of arrange a time and a place to meet. I decided the best thing was to stop texting her for a week or so, recuperate and maybe go again and see where it goes.

This was the last message before I stopped for a week.

Me: Are we going to meet up then, or are you going to keep being shy? Haha
G: Haha hmm mmm
G: Im really shy actually
G: Lol
Me: Haha yeah I could tell 😂
Me: It's up to you :) I'm nice, I don't bite Haha
G: 😂 i know you dont ahah
G: Will make some time :)
Me: Look it's ok (next day) Me: I don't want to force you, and I'm not going to wait around forever (don't know why I cracked)
Me: Talk to me when you're a bit older and comfortable with meeting people 😉

And now I have re initiated a week later. Notice how I'm remembering how to text now and timing my texts better... And I'm not going to ask her to meet up for a while until we build up some rapport and attraction.

I feel like she's getting a bit of interest back and I'm shaking the boat a bit, showing I've got options. Thoughts on where to go next? I'm not sure if she is shy.. If i should keep playing games or because she's a bit of a flake, go more direct and say "look, I don't wanna play games with you"

I especially find it difficult because she tends not to initiate texts.. Either she's shy or disinterested.. Is this still salvageable or should I just walk away.
