Stop putting women on a pedestal. Stop being so goddamn outcome independent. Stop putting so much pressure on yourself and the women you talk to.

You're trying too hard, you're thinking too hard, and you're pretending to be something you're not. Stop putting ratings on women like they're trophies. Girls can sense this, especially the very attractive ones, and they can subconsciously feel that you are pretending to be something you're not just to sleep with them.

Homework: Read "Models" By Mark Manson, it will solve the root cause of your problem.

Actually, that is funny, because you are an example of how looks sometimes matter. You say your game sucks (and your confidence is blow average) but since you look like a model, you can still pull 8s. :) But yes, you will see men who are not as good looking as you but have solid game...and they do well.

Are you cold approaching or are they approaching you?

The advice here is actually the same as any other guy: work on your attraction game and inner game (including confidence) and you will pull hotter women. Read, understand, and apply the sidebar help.

Do you cold approach these women? Do they open you?

Girls in their early 20's are the most shallow of them all. Get ripped. You're 6'3 so you're already at an advantage. If the pimples bother you wear some BB cream.
