Perspective: If you were dating someone and a girl came up to you at a bar and expressed interest, how would you feel? Would you be insulted or would you feel good that someone found you attractive enough to approach you even if you weren't interested?

As long as you're not an ass and keep hitting on someone that says they're attached, you're not going to hurt anyone's feelings, and you're not getting rejected. Just smile, say lucky guy, and consider her a potential friend and wing-girl. Be friendly, smile, make a friend. Maybe she has friends that are hot. Maybe she doesn't really have a boyfriend and that's just her stock answer. Whatever. If you're cool about it, meeting girls with boyfriends can open all sorts of doors for you. Don't act like it's a rejection, because it's not. It's now just a different type of interaction.

Yes, of course they are fair game. If she is not interested or available or whatever, that's fine.

If you are afraid she will reject you then lose your ego. Don't be such a pussy.
