Stumbled upon an interesting concept. Mini background - I normally only text logistics with a girl to get her to meetup after getting a number, however, I've been hanging out with this girl for about a month and half now. Slowly, only logistical texts have transited into some limited bantering/conversations via text, with her initiating 75% of the time. I still edge on not having long, drawn out conversations, or even daily conversations via text.
With that out of the way..... I've noticed I've had success via texting and in person when associating only positive things with me from the girls point of view.
Example: Girl's car overheats on the way to a race she's running about 2 hours alway. She texts me saying she she's stranded and her car overheated but has enough coolant (I'm a car guy), but he dad is coming to get her. I only wake up around 11am and respond saying I hope it isn't the headgasket and she should get AAA. This is a logical, bro to bro, response that I probably should have rethought. She replies saying she has AAA and just hates how her car sucks. Notice the response and additional negative vibe back.
Essentially here, you see me potentially being the 'emotional tampon'. Because this is negative thoughts/vibes coming from her after that, I really don't have anything to say back, so I just drop the conversation there. 24 hours later, I'm working out and remember us joking and laughing about cracking knuckles and necks when we were together in person on her rooftop laying together (good vibes).
I sent a text saying "Just caught myself cracking my knuckles in between sets. I blame you"... this immediately gets a good, positive response back of her joking about not wanting her bad traits to rub off on me. I slide into a qualification of "Let's hope your good ones do too"... then she starts basically trying to come up with good traits...
Alternatively, I could have hit her up around the same time and said "How's your car doing?" or something like that. I believe in a girl's mind, seeing a text from me and associating it with a negative feeling of feeling stranded and missing the race (running) she was going to that morning would have worked against me. This might go against what many people think would be a good play here... you might think you asking her how her car is doing or how the negative situation panned out is a good thing and shows you care. I beg to differ.
Because I simply changed subjects to a positive time we were together, she received good vibes/thoughts about me in relation to the last time we hung out in person. I feel this is especially necessary to be aware of over texts as she's directly associating whatever feelings/emotions she conjures up and relating them directly to you in her mind.
This all goes back to how women think more emotionally and men think more logically. A man or your bro might interpret you asking them about their car or a sucky situation as "Wow, my bro was checking up on me because he cared. That's cool, he's got my back".... this is logical and thought out. A girl reads your text doesn't got through the same thought process, only associating you with a negative stimuli.
This is just one recent example, but I've seen this theory in play and have done both. Avoiding negative ideas and bringing up positive ones seems to net small +1's in my favor.
