I hear over and over the fact that "you shouldn't ask questions to a girl but instead make statements". Of course you don't want to interrogate the girl pointing a light to her face, but I don't see where is the bad thing in asking questions. I think that there are two different ways to ask question to a girl: the right way and the bad way. If you ask her "Where are you from" and after getting the answer you ask "What's your job", clearly she'll think that you don't have any interest in what she's saying. You're just trying to gain some more time with her. But if, after the question "where are you from" and the answer, you ask a related question like "how's life there" or "how is to grow up there", you're showing that not only you're listening to her, but you're truly interested on what she's saying. It's not a battle between questions and statements. It's a battle between a right way and a wrong way to ask questions.
