I think you're (subconsciously?) abiding by the "don't shit where you eat" rule—in a place where it doesn't apply, by the way—because you're scared of failure. You obviously want to hook up with these girls, but you're letting your mind get off the hook because "I don't want this, right?" So that provides some form of contentment even if you're not getting any because 'it's what you want.' But deep down you know you want it, and the moment you get over your self-imposed rule, if you don't get any it'll be because you can't get any. You'll be in the same spot you are now, but it will feel so much shittier. And you're scared of that.
