Yea, I think this is the primary reason lots here say to use text just as a tool to set up dates. Keep conversation to a minimum.

I personally think that's completely optional, but you do have to keep what OP said in mind... In text you can't read body language, or tone of voice... It's just harder to read into feelings over text.

I think to some point you can. Especially with online dating you can create just a little rapport. I haven't had trouble doing so. Just don't overdo it of course. Save your tricks for the date for sure.

Ideally, you shouldn't flirt or have a conversation through text unless of course there's already solid rapport and everything. Its too easy to misinterpret something through text. For example, there's so many times people write "lol" but they're not actually laughing out loud . Exactly what Derpaterian is saying (I just read his comment now)! Personally, I'd like to switch from texting to phone calls ASAP so that you can have proper conversations, flirt , and correct the other person if there's some miscommunication.
