I uses to be the same way when I first started dating but then I leaned; it's part of dating. Don't build yourself up on this date, girl or a possibility of a later relationship. Right now, just focus on the fun of getting to know someone and if it doesn't work out, so what. There will be another date that will make up for this one.

I answered a similar question early on.

The reason you may be sad about it is because you sound like you have a bit of a scarcity mentality.

Have an abundant mentality. That one girl that flaked on you is only one out of a hundred thousand girls that doesn't want to fuck you right now.

When having an abundant mentality and a girl flakes, no big deal because you would already have other girls lined up.

With a scarcity mentality you end up pursuing one girl at a time and that's why it can be upsetting when that one girl flakes.

So, pursue multiple girls at once and don't lie about it. After seeing multiple girls at once and you find one that you really like and bond with, make it exclusive if you want.

There is nothing wrong with seeing multiple girls at once as long as you don't lie about it or your already in a exclusive relationship.

To avoid girls from flaking, make sure you make your interactions as solid as possible or in other words, have solid game. Learn from each of your interactions with girls. No girl is a waste of time. You can learn from each girl and each experience is valuable.

Identify your sticking points, be brutally honest with yourself and work on each one until you have "solid game". The result will be that MUCH less girls will flake on you.

Also, when setting up a date with a girl, make sure that you let her know that you value your time just as much as she probably does and so if something comes up that may cause her to cancel, tell her to let you know early on so you don't have to "cancel" other things you initially had going on.

This also says that your an important man that has other shit to do and your taking time out of your "schedule" for her.

First of all realize that it's not just this one flake that is making you sad. This flake may have just been the straw that broke the camel's back.

Obvious answer is to get laid. I think that emotional reaction that all guys get as a result of rejection comes down to (1) our basic psychological need to have sex at least once a month and (2) the insecure feeling that I'm not good enough, I'm not handsome enough, I'm not ripped enough, etc. Both of these things can be solved by getting laid.

Make new friends. A lot of times we get stuck in a rut because habits are hard to break when we are surrounded by people who motivate us to perpetuate those habits. If you aren't getting anywhere talking to random girls, find some new guys to hang out with. New friends give you the liberty and freedom to be a new person.
