Tried approaching today, was terrified. Any tips for a beginner?

This is going against the mainstream idea of this subreddit of ''assume attraction'' but the following might help. Already assume a strong possibility of a negative outcome that is not personal and be perfectly okay with it. So as you approach realize that it's a very possible scenario that this girl, for tons of different reasons that are not personal, could reject you. This removes the fear of rejection from the very beginning because hey it's already something that can definitely happen, right? It is important to remember the not personal part, a girl can have hundreds of things going on right now that makes her not want to meet a new guy just now, it has nothing to do with you. So even when you get really cold responses, it should not bother you because that's part of it.

Another thing is to just be honest to yourself about what you are doing. Some anxiety can arise from trying to talk to her without showing that you are interested in her by doing some acrobatics with negs or whatever. Don't do that, the reason you go talk to her is because you are at least interested to see what she is like. Admit that to yourself and to her (not verbally but through your actions).

Are you doing any meditation or other means of collecting yourself before going out?? If not, change this and try again. It helps more than you can quantify.

Are you day gaming? If so, something I did my first time out day gaming was to buy a dollar shot and a soda. Made a quick mixer, and spent an hour sipping it. It was just enough liquid courage to mentally say "Screw It" and just go for it. If you do this, I say no more than a shot because you don't want to smell of booze.
