I had been having a few issues with flaking and confusing follow-up to dates recently.

Then I figured it out:

1- The Ones that flaked:

I was usually texting girls, even when the response was yes to a date it didn't go to a good conversion number.

So, one day I decided: either call them to make the date or call them on the day of or a day before. General chit-chat with a confirmation thrown in.

The flake rate went down drastically. The ones whom I called to set-up the date almost never flaked.

It lead to better use of my time, no more was I making plans which would fall through at the last moment.

2- Follow-up/Next Date

Here it was a bit subjective, some women like a text afterwards or a text and then a call.

Again, calling helped immensely. Unless the girl is very active on text or texts me first I went in with a call. It might be the next day or three days later, depends on the girl and my free time but the calls definitely were more positive than any text.

Basically, if you have met her and have a comfort level its better to call. It shows confidence and as I said above if she says yes to a next date on the call chances are she will show up. Also, much easier to gauge if she is interested or not without going into text mode where everything is hard to decipher.

Example: I would send something witty back to a girl I am not interested in(if she has texted something cute or whatever) over text but the call I take will usually be from the girl I am interested in and have a fun time talking to.
