What do you do when the friend of the one you're into likes you the most?

okay so let me answer your question with my own personal experience. We will call the two girls Girl A and Girl B, Girl A is the one that you're into, and Girl B is the one that's into you. When I was a senior in high school, I started crushing hard on Girl A, like super hard. Naturally, she wasn't that into me throughout the school year, eventually I gave up and moved on to another girl, who has nothing to do with this example. However, Girl A and Girl B were the best of friends in this example, almost like sisters. And while the three of us had become friends, neither showed much interest in me. So I graduated and summer came, pretty quickly into the summer I somehow worked my way into hanging out with Girl A and Girl B a good bit. Pretty quickly I realized that Girl B was definitely into me, whereas the case was not as much as Girl A. Time and days came and went and one night Girl B told me that she was into me, and that Girl A was as well. Naturally, I chose Girl A, however I realized pretty quickly that my expectations were too high, so I quickly bowed out of that and tried to fix the damage. I managed to catch Girl B while she was still hot for me and dated her through my first year and a half of college. Despite that, I never quite shook Girl A out of my head until after the split, not to mention I was the sole cause of the end of their friendship and Girl A has yet to speak to me since.

The Moral of the Story is such, if you feel like she's not into you, then most likely bro, she's not into you. It's just the way of life. As I see it you have three options in this situation and I will list them in order of the smartest to least smart choice.

1) Cut your loses and leave them. Just get out of that situation romantically, if you want to remain friends with them, fine, but it would be the best to leave it alone.

2) Try to make something of it with Girl B. You can try this, and probably succeed, but the harsh reality is that you really want Girl A, and eventually the heart will win and you'll have to tell Girl B she wasn't really the one you wanted.

3) Continue on the path for Girl A. There's a slight chance this works, as it did for me. But there's not much of a chance of success, or much of a chance that you can avoid some sort of Teenaged-Girl TV show Love Triangle bullshit that will leave you feeling like a complete and utter dickhead at the end of it.

What's the best way to act in that situation?

This isn't complicated. You're making it so.

Don't like her? You're not obligated to go there. In fact, it's better and healthier if you don't.

Is there a way to use the friend to get the target to like me?

This is nonsensical if you stop and think about it. How about if we flip the situation to demonstrate?

Let's say you and some guy friend met a girl.
You're not into her, at all.
How could she use your guy friend....what could she do to him to magically change something inside you so that you like her? How could doing something to someone else change you internally in this way?

You know the answer, I think. You're just reaching for something because you've gotten invested in the idea of getting at this other girl.

However, have you even tried to get this girl's number? The one you're into? Have you tried to ask her to hang out with you one on one? Maybe you could try that. If you have and it didn't pan out, then be friends and move on.
