I only usually ever try to talk to girls in bars in the night.

My plans for tonight got cancelled whilst I was at the beach which annoyed me, so I thought I may aswell try to approach some girls whilst I was there.

I spotted 2 young, pretty girls lying down. I walked up to them and the convo went something like:

M: Hey, guys! how's it going?

HB: hi. Going OK, thanks

M: You guys live around here?

HB: Yeah

M: Lucky! I bet you spend a lot of time on the beach when the sun's out! I'm from xxxx - just here for a few hours on a a little adventure

HB: Cool.

M: So what are your names?

HB: I'm kelly. She's Jade.

M: I'm famineofcrows. So you girls been here all day?

HB: Pretty much. Since like midday.

M: Yeah? You're looking pretty pale to me. I don't think yo're safe in the sun. You're gonna burn!

HB: Haha. I have irish blood in me.

M: Yeah, that'll be it. Even i'm browner than you! come here!

(kind of grab her arm and push it again mine to compare tans) See? I've got you beat. So, you not going in the water?

HB: Nah. too cold

M: Ahh, you wimp. It's not that cold

At this point I felt as though I was running out of things to say, but I was more concerned that even if i did come up with some more run-of-the-mill questions/statements, I felt as though there was no way I was ever gonna be able to do more than have a 'friendly chat'. I made a little more small talk and then said 'anyone, see you later'

Like, it's hard enough at night when the alcohol is flowing and being 'hit on' is more expected, but In day game especially I have no idea how I was supposed to progress the convo in order to get some sort of flirting / sexual vibes going.

In hindsight, the only thing I can think of that at some point I should have TOLD her that I thought she was hot?

But then, i think i read in one of the Pickup books that you should never SAY it but SHOW it through you actions? I don't know which is right. And I don't really know how to show it.

I know of kino, but I'd need a reason to keep touching her less I come of totally creepy (especially with 2 young girls in the day time on the beach!?)

Or maybe I should have asked if they have boyfriends or sometihng?

Maybe someone can post a 'make belive' (yet realistic) SUCCESSFULL conversation of how an approach at the beach such as above might look.
