One of the areas where I see people struggle with (including myself) is after opening a girl (say in a bar) the conversation is very bland.

This is much more the case if the girl is fairly uninterested straight from the off and isn't giving much back in the way of conversation.

Most good interactions happen when there seems to be a playfil vibe straight away, but this only really seems possible if the girl is contributing or maybe if she happens to say/do something that you can tease her about.

But if she hasn't said/done anything silly that you can tease her about in the first minute or 2 of the conversation, what is one to do?

Do you guys have kind of canned, 'all purpose' teases that you use? Do you eject if she just seems completely uninterested in talking to you after you open her and ask her a few questions about her night or whatever?

Similar with 'self amusement'. What sort of things do you guys slip into each interaction as a way of 'self amusement'?
