I'll try not to drag on with details.

I just started working a new job, and I met this Malaysian girl! I introduced myself to her and sat with her at lunch. We had a nice conversation for the most part. The only problem is that there's a small language barrier. She speaks English very decently, just some times where I had to ask her to repeat herself (which I tried to avoid at all cost) and she didn't mind a bit. I got her phone number... this is where I'm having major issues. She spells her words wonderfully and uses punctuation correctly, but she answers questions so strangely and vaguely.

For instance;

Her- So what do you think of me? Honestly

Me- Honestly? I think you're beautiful and you have a warm smile. I can tell that you are shy, but you are really fun to talk to! What about me?

Her- I don't know you very well. I think you're brave because you introduce yourself to me.

This is just one example. She has yet to compliment me or give me any verbal indication that she is romanticly interested in me. Keep in mind, I have made it pretty obvious that I am interested in being more than a friend.

She gives me very positive body language, though. Especially when I pass through her department she looks up at me with a huge grin and waves at me. Sometimes I make an excuse to look back and I catch her looking at me every time. When I sit with her at lunch, she keeps almost constant eye contact while smiling and tries her best to keep conversations going, which I really like in a girl.

All in all... she seems to like me. But it's almost as if she doesn't want me to know. Which if that's the case, it would make life much better for the both of us if she just started showing it and we can finally get the ball rolling.

I am not familiar at all with Malaysian culture. Do you any of you know if this is where the issue is? Or am I just misinterpreting the whole situation? Any help will be appreciated.

edit: I don't goofed, guys. She's from Myanmar. I know I heard her mention Malaysian at some point. I feel dumb.
