How to handle other guys trying to 'cockblock' you when seducing strangers at bars/clubs?

I was in a similar situation once. The girl was cool with me and we were talking/vibing whatever. But then out of no where comes this person who was just way more persistent than I was willing to be. I got the same feeling you did. Not wanting to seem desperate while that person did seem desperate. Unfortunately the desperation won.

I would move the girl say, to the bar for water and boom! when I turned around the person was there talking to her. The other person obviously had their mind set on taking her home that night while I just wasn't willing to invest that much in a battle over her when there were many other attractive girls there that night.

It's not really advice on what to do sorry, but I understand your situation. Wish someone would give some useful practical STRATEGY tips not just. . . 'be better and give in to the fact that that the other person is better.'

Now that I'm thinking about this in hind-site...Maybe we could do something like give the girl an ultimatum. But not in a desperate way, rather a commanding/ take it or leave it kind of way. Just tell her 'hey, come with me lets get away from this guy and go talk in somewhere else' Take her hand and start walking. Something like that. That way she can choose. If she's really that much more interested in the other guy then she will stay, but at least it doesn't leave you looking like a desperate person just waiting for her to pick one of you.

I'll give that a try next time this cock-blocking situation comes up and see what happens.

I just make a face to her and say "whats up with this guy?". It focuses attention away from him and creates a special insider discussion between you and her, in a way you are inviting her to make a judgment about the interloper while you both quietly laugh about it.

You usually have to be "higher-energy" than him (i.e. more fun, more outgoing, etc.). Also, if you really click with this girl, you can really come up with a topic. Let's say you both like Slipknot. Bring up Slipknot! A concert you went and something awesome that happened. She will be listening to you as the guy just stands there.

Get her attention. It could be something as simple as "Oh wow nice spot in your hand" while grabbing her hand (Kino), and then moving on with more kino. Monopolize her attention.

However, if the opposite happens, it starts getting bad for you. It's okay, move on.

You said it right... "Steals the show". It's what basically is. You just need to be confident.

Also, do not compliment her out of the blue. You will look desperate and awkward.

You could be a jerk with the other guy, but I don't recommend it, because some people can be very aggressive. What I mean by this is kind of dismissing him in a way he feels inferior.

He walked all in and took your shit because he could and deserved it because he could.

When you're out classed, be friends with those that outclass you and learn from them. Don't look at them as a threat pushing you out, look at them as though they're already your friend.

Ultimately overall you just have to become better and eventually you'll start to notice that you do this to other men as well, and you'll deserve it more then them because you're better than them.
