It's hardwired.

Neediness subconsciously indicates an inability to easily find a partner. When a man is super confident and can always find a new partner, it indicates that he has superior status and everyone recognizes it.

A healthy balance of both mental and physical strength is needed in attraction. Neediness/insecurity signifies problems and baggage. Women do not want to deal with them unless they are emotionally invested in you. This is because everyone has their own issues to deal with.

You don't have to a complete Alpha but as long as you know and own your core value/true self then you are good to go.

A needy insecure weak guy is not a good provider or protector and is going to pass on his weak genes to his offspring. Basically a loser in every part of a woman's reproductive calculus.
