Simple question for ya’ll. Did you pay for your partner’s legal fees to consult with her lawyer for the prenup?

One of the lawyers my fiancée is considering said it’s normally expected that the presenting party covers her costs.

I already gave her a decent chunk to get started since she is a teacher and has a fair bit less income to me, but I sure as hell didn’t plan to cover anything more than the gift I offered, since I’m already paying the majority of our wedding, house and bills, and many other thing. As a previously divorced once man, this serious feels like something an attorney would say to a potential client to win them over that may not be reality.

Am I getting screwed already? And, how would you all handle this both with getting your prenup signed off, and with your partner in general?
