Why do I fear rejection even though I'm good looking?

Fear of rejection has nothing to do with your looks.

Fear of rejection is related to a basic need to be seen as successful. So think about what success looks like:

In a sample size of 1, a single success means 100% success and a single failure means 0% success. This makes your stakes extremely high, and your fear will consume you.

However, in a sample size of 10, a single success or failure only represents 10%. And in a sample size of 100, it's only 1%.

If you approach 10 girls, you're certain to have some success... and even though it won't be 100%, it will undoubtedly be a number larger than one, which is much better than even your 100% success with only one girl.

And if you approach 100 girls, your success rate will be best of all, because you'll learn and improve with practice, and the number of successes will be enormous, even if the rate was only ~30%.

So basically, stop fretting over the first one, and just get down to the work of making it 10, and then 100... and watch how your fear of rejection magically disappears.

I don't wanna sound like an armchair psychologist here, but were you always that good-looking? If not, then perhaps it's a limitating belief from way back that holds you back that much.

It's because you are so self absorbed that you have rated yourself 8-9/10. That shows to me that you are insecure and are afraid of being told otherwise by girls when you approach them.
