Curiosity of nice guy vs chivalrous guy

Chivalry is when you act honorably towards women without any expectation of the woman doing favors for you back. Being a "nice guy" generally means you do things for a woman with the intention of getting her to like you. Niceness has strings attached, at least when talking about someone being a "nice guy."

nice is usually associated with guys who act in a manor towards women that comes from a place of insecurity or neediness. "your so pretty i would treat you so well if we dated"

chivalrous is better defined by ideals and stereotypes of what women would want in an ideal boyfriend or lover. Then doing or acting in that manner simply because you want to and not because she expects it.

i guess a somewhat good example would be like if a girl with stuff in her hands was trying to go inside somewhere and you were standing a few feet from the door.

in a nice guy scenario the girl would walk up to the door without any attention to you realize she cant get in easily then asks you to open the door for her. you being the nice guy you are walk up and open it for her, youll probably get a thank you and she walks through and you ll never see her again.

in a chivalrous guy scenario before she even gets to the door you realize thats shes going to have a hard time getting through that door. so you chivalrous guy you are walk up without her having to ask smile and open the door for her. once again the outcome will more than likely be a thank you and youll never see her again but the point is that she would much rather have someone whos chivalrous as a boyfriend.
