I'm getting a lot of instagram closes form day game but to be frank my instagram is poor.

I never thought I would live to see the day when somebody seriously used the term "instagram close." An "instagram close" is not a close. Get her fucking number. It is a waste of your time to try to fuck girls using social media.

Is there any good tips to improve follower count or the sort of pictures I should be taking?

Don't waste your time with that bullshit. Get her fucking phone number and call her.

Have fucked models off Instagram.

Gentlemen. If it works, it works. The man wants to know how he can make his instagram better, with the mindset of communicating status to girls. Girls use instagram as a HUGE status symbol amongst themselves. If a guy has a better instagram than them, this can obviously be another useful tool.

How I built my instagram for the purpose of social proof:

As usual, step number 1: be attractive.

A couple years ago, I was dating a "model". You know, that girl who is pretty attractive and has good bone structure in her face, and has a couple professional shots on her instagram and is signed to an agency, but really, its just a status symbol, she's not doing it as a job, and often times in reality, she's losing money because of it.

However, I met her favorite photographer and started out getting a couple good photos of myself for my own instagram and tinder profiles. Off of those photos, more photographers started contacting me (this is right when every girl with a camera and Lightroom started thinking they were a professional photographer) to do shoots. Pretty soon, I was reaching out to photographers and they were reaching out to me and I was doing cool photoshoots every weekend, meeting really cool people and talking to other models.

The point: everyones got a camera and thinks theyre a photographer. offer to help them build their portfolio in exchange for free shots. leverage those shots to talk to better photographers to get better shots to get the ball rolling and build momentum for yourself.

I leveraged my status as an "up and coming model" to talk to really attractive instagram models to ask for advice or collaborations, and eventually shift the conversation and get their snapchat and become really good friends and eventually more than that.

now I had quality content, but no followers

step 2: figure out your market, and advertise to them

I started thinking about how to get more. Its almost obvious if you set your mind to it: people following famous accounts that post similar photos as you do, probably want more of that vibe. For example, tons of chicks follow Lucky Blue Smith or Anwar Hadid, and they probably would love to follow a "model" who is someone they could actually potentially talk to, someone more accessible.

BUT you can't just go trolling through their follower list: those people may or may not be active, and they may just be big pages that don't actually engage with who theyre following. So you have to go to So-and-So's most recent photo, open up the list of recent likes, and then start following those people.

Now, when someone follows you on instagram, and you go to their account, and theyre following thousands of people but only have a couple followers, you don't follow them back. Or if theyre not someone you know, or if they generally give off a vibe that they just want you to follow them back. So you have to engage.

Shoot them a DM, start a conversation, like their photos, leave a comment if you feel so inclined. Obviously the same rules apply as in real life: don't be creepy about it.

Using this, I built my follower-base to 2k, I got paid for gigs like you wouldn't believe, and I met a ton of really hot models and extremely cool photographers. Plus, when girls follow you on instagram, its a huge social proof. TWO THOUSAND PEOPLE approve of you. You look hot. And maybe you even have some more clever info in your bio, and some cool post captions.

NOTE: even if you're not attractive, you can build a cool instagram of other stuff and use step number two exactly the same way, or off your style alone. I know several models who are plus size and rather unattractive in every way, but their style and character is so unique that it works

It was a TON of work. Modeling is a really difficult business. I got approached by two agencies, one of which was top 3 in my area, but both would have been a complete waste of my time and likely would have ended up losing me money and would have been a HUGE opportunity cost. A lot of people massage your ego, but you have to be real with yourself and realize that they want to use you to make money for themselves. If you arent getting laid left and right by nature of your looks alone already, then you're probably not going to make real money as a model. Its about leveraging the social proof, the attention, and the network you built to get other things.
