TL;DR Most FRs are stories, not instructional guides. Internet tends to show extremes in either direction because they're more interesting than the majority. People lie, deceive, and hide failure. Location does make a difference.

Most field reports I've read are not helpful. They are written like stories instead of instructional material. Makes sense, as I feel the motive of the people posting them is to either show the community how they've improved themselves, gotten a girl, and are grateful... Or, in some unfortunate cases, to brag.

I've found that people who write tip lists with real life examples are much more informative than traditional field reports. The attractive / unattractive behaviors are focused on, instead of being a detail in a story.

Also, I wouldn't compare yourself to people on the internet, as the extremely good and extremely bad tend to get more attention than the average (think of "Ten amazing feats / fail lists and videos around the internet). The bodycounts of PUA artists and some members of this subreddit are way higher than the most of men and women I know. You remember the players and the virgins, not the average joes or rising stars.

Keep in mind that sometimes people lie and embellish for attention. It's harder to uncover deception on the net. People tend to show their successes, not their failures

Location makes a difference. People living in big cities, universities, and college towns are going to have more opportunities than people living in rural areas.

In the end, investing in yourself and spending time pursuing women will help you more than spending your nights reading an innumerable amount of articles and posts on picking up women. The internet certainly helps, but spending too much time on it is counterproductive.
