You could go with the better place at 44/year.

Up to you tho. Alot of times there's noise and shit above a club or a tavern. Riff raff and shit.

i'm assuming you're still young and still interested in going to the bars every weekend or so. The spot by the clubs sooooo much easier logistically. An easy pickup line (or one near the end of the conversation) is, "Hey my place is just a block from here and i have this Great botlle-of-wine/video-game/thing-that-we-both-like there!" so it's an easy way for someone to say yes. also, you could walk home drunk and not worry about DUIs

Personally, whichever is closer to the gym. Has a big effect on my compliance and is the #1 criteria when I decide where to live.

I'd probably choose the one closer to the action.

I lived in Toronto the past 2 summers intermittently. Summer #1 I lived in the heart of downtown and subwayed to work. I was out and about and had a blast. Summer #2 I lived "only a subway away from downtown" and drove to work.... I never subwayed downtown. Half the time Id cab and be super late to the nightlife/have a hard time talking girls into coming across town.

However you do not mention anything about the commute of place #2 to work. I'd probably value that heavier has commutes really take their toll.

I live far, far away from the bars and its going to be a slight hindrance when trying to get a girl home. There's cabs but it took some people 2 HOURS to get a cab home last night. On a slow night it's ONE hour. That's a buzzkill if you don't have a warm place to cozy up & make up, work some game, and where I am it's now cold. North of me got snow & all the girls in their skimpy Halloween outfits were fucking frozen. I'd say 1 in 7 gave up the line-up to get in to the bars & just ran home from the cold. The others cut in line because they're hot and guys let them so they could have a chance to work some lines & touching. Good excuse to keep warm but mostly groups of girls cuddled each other (also a nice sight) since it was that cold.

Surely there's shit to do outside of your local downtown. You can meet girls at the grocery store just as effectively as a club, and you're less likely to run into club sluts in the produce section.

Fit girl in yoga pants buying organic steaks? Check. Half drunk club slut in dim lighting wearing little dress? Pass.
