A few days ago I cold approached this cute girl in the library at my school. I slid her a note and told her that I thought she was cute and asked for her #. She obliged. Anyways, while at the library its obviously quiet but we text and in person she responded pretty quickly but she was flirty too (maybe to be nice). She eventually dipped out but for a few hours after that it was still pretty fast responses.

She was at a friends birthday party (male) so I was paranoid that she was just flirting to get him jealous lol. I ask her some questions and she says shell respond back after the bday party but she never does. Next day i text her about 12 hours(counting sleep) later and ask her how the party was. She basically says good and mentions how it was just a dinner(made it obvious she didn’t do anything) and she sober cabbed him home. Does this mean he smashed (I feel like even asking this will make it seem like a yes, but tbh this girl seemed genuinely attracted to me. Yea this is insecurity)? Im hung up on this one cause i feel like she spent the night but...keep reading.

Ok the way she texts is she started to kind of ignore my questions but shell respond with emojis and give off a vibe of being emotionally invested ( hahas, exclamations, emojis). I texted her about the party she responds 3 hours later. I wait 3 hours to respond back asking her to lunch. That night she sends me a long ass text about how shes been really busy. She has midterms, work, and homework due sho thats why shes was slow to respond. This text was a response to me asking her out. She said she would be busy for about two weeks and to be patient with scheduling (im guessing she didn’t think ill be around since shell stop texting me. This is pessimistic me but ofc i dont wanna be naive either). I ask her what times are good and she says weekdays at X. But she had just told me that she would be busy so i didnt want to push it cause I wanted to see if she was just bsing.

I sent her a text with some music that I like and she read it this morning but hasn’t responded.

She complimented me on attention to detail and shit cause i kind of thew a jab at her. Ok from her perspective she may just be friends. However she still basically went cold texting wise no matter what. I want to ask her out but again but i think she’ll flake cause its dead now lol cause ive only known her one day! And im a stranger lol. But it seems like i gotta somehow not be clingy and somehow make her laugh again then ask her out in a few days and go from there? This is optimistic me.

What should I do? What should I do next time? Do you guys think shes actually busy or am I letting PUA shit get to me? Cause she seemed genuine.
