I alternate between the eyes, the space between the eyes, and the lips. Don't know if it's the right way to make eye contact but hey, as long as it works.

False dichotomy. Let your eyes wander. It shouldn't be a laser focus on one eye or one point on their face.

But in general, the whole triangle thing is pretty good. Letting your eyes wander from one eye to the other, to her mouth, and back again.

But as others have said, don't over-think this.

I look where I look. Sometimes I'll even look at their lips! It doesn't matter, as long as you're meeting the person and you're experiencing them. Don't think about what eye to look at, what the heck?

Just look, see where your eyes want to go and smile. Enjoy the interaction. People are just....you but behind different eyes.
