Text exchange this morning with my girl. She works nights and is usually getting ready for bed when I am getting up. This exchange just left a bad taste in my mouth. There are typically very few shit tests from her and I have a higher SMV, better paying job, destroy her in bed so no worries with any of that. Critique away.

Her: I don't like you being in the cold (I walk to work)

Me: My face is freezing, you should come sit on it.

Her: I don't think your boss would approve.

Her: What did you do yesterday? (She slept during the day and we didn't talk much)

Me: Your thighs are my favorite earmuffs.

Her: You didn't answer my question..

Me: Sorry officer (meant in sarcasm and she knows I'm like that)

Her: Alright Fine. Nevermind. Goodnight.

1 hour later...

Me: Fucked up that you'd treat me like that. Night.

Her: I didn't treat you like anything. I was trying to talk to you and you avoided me twice. So I figured you wanted me to leave you alone.

1 hour later

Me: I'm not arguing over an obvious joke.

I generally prescribe to the MMSL or MAP style of TRP because it's been a long time together. Wherein we are an established couple and she is a mother figure to my daughter etc. So I prefer to modify/correct behavior as opposed to nexting.

I think I went wrong with saying it was fucked up that she treated me like that, but I wanted to point out her behavior instead of letting it slide.

Advice? Or did I handle it appropriately and just wait for her to apologize.
