Long time lurker here, but I made a personal discovery I felt should be shared. I've known this girl a few years, but we've only recently become acquaintances and I daresay friends. I had a great day with her yesterday. She needed help with fixing a flat tire, then she wanted to get a beer and we ended up getting lunch and having a really good conversation. I meant to tell her how much I appreciated her just being there in a pretty vulnerable time in my life. I've begun to realize I have a problem saying things in text and never talking the same way in person.

Imagine you're a beautiful girl, and you constantly get texts from guys but they never talk the same in person.

So I told her I had something to tell her, but I'd wait until it was in person. Of course, she immediately wanted to know what it was, so I told her no, and why, because it makes it disingenuous. Well I'll be damned if she didn't appreciate the hell out of that.

Tldr;

Do not tell her things over text that you wouldn't say to her face. If it helps, tell her you have something to say to her in person so it creates suspense, or another reason to see you again.
