Well, I agree with the beginning and you start to lose me by the middle and then by the end, we diverge entirely.
So I just have to say, if this is your method, then it sounds great for you. I agree that the transparent approach is unfavorable for me. I just don't like being transparent. I don't give strangers compliments, I save them for intimate relationships.
I don't think I need to tell a woman anything I like about them in order for them to like me. I don't need to ask for her number to get her number either. I treat in person interaction the same way I do online interactions and it seems to work in both cases for me. It doesn't really feel any different and I've had the same results.
I say something that sparks a woman's curiosity.
I begin my banter and avoid small talk at all costs.
I don't volunteer information about myself, I wait until she asks.
I don't ask questions about her, until I become invested and interested in how she's talking back to me.
I start flirting through conversation, rather than just my body language and eyes.
I wait for her questions to start coming and then I open up.
I take her number when she offers it.
I suggest a day and time, when she offers meeting again.

Lol no, it makes you the guy who is always talking about himself. She should be talking about herself.

The message I'm trying to convey is you let her direct the conversation by letting her drive, in which you let her talk and pull the conversation out of her. What she discovers about you is what she hears in your volleys back to her so to speak!

I agree with everything you stated in this post. The only part I disagree with (which I may have interpreted wrong) is, it seems like you're saying to make the conversation about yourself. People love to talk about themselves, as do women. If you ask a girl "what's your favorite book?" and she replies "Remember Me" you ask "why" and she replies, don't go on to say what yours is until you are asked. Some people don't care and it seems like you're trying too hard to keep the conversation going. Instead, continue off something else. If you want to say something about yourself, sometimes a little awkward silence will get that "what about you?" Out of her.

I do not mean so much make the conversation and interaction about you in the sense you're drowning her in talking about yourself, but more so when it's done and you leave, in retrospect the legacy of the interaction is that YOU were interesting. YOU showed value.
I feel the traditional approach of keeping it light, complimenting and then getting a number does the opposite, it makes the interaction about her, and does less to build interest in her pursuing it.

____1____
....the most common style of pickup there is, is very valueness....
Valueness?
____2____
Boy.....says something that exposes the fact he has been enticed by the girls looks, (as you have nothing else to go by)
Incorrect. If you are truly paying attention, there are a ton of other things you could be going off of. Just to name a few:
The look on her face; emotional state.
What's she's doing.
How she seems to feel about what she's doing or what is going on around her.
Who's with her and what they are doing.
In general, things that are happening around you both at that time; the current shared experience.
____3____
Good looking girls hearing they are good looking almost becomes as routine to them as your waiter saying "Thanks guys, come again!"
True.
____4____
To me the only value of the interaction to this point is showing a small streak of confidence in your approach.
But since there is actually a lot more to go on besides appearance, the rest of this post kind of falls apart.
It's not just confidence, it's attentiveness and connection that one can be offering. And a little playfulness and fun, depending on what observations one is sharing.
____5___'
So at this point forward the entire rest of this cold style approach is a game in which she knows what you want....
Kind of presumptuous.
The guy might change his mind after opening. She might be lame. And she might not be interested.
So she might be wrong about what she thinks the guy wants. They both might have no idea or be thinking any further than that very second.
____6___'
I feel the process is very predictable, doesn't do anything that showcases yourself, and she may see you off with a number, but may very well have no real interest in contacting you or pursuing things.
_a_
The process is very unpredictable because LIFE is unpredictable and there's no way to know what sort of situational opener might occur in the moment.
_b_
Showing that one is observant, goes really far, because most people are in their heads. In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.
_c_
And if one is connecting on the basis of whatever is going on right then, she might not be simply giving him the number to make him go away.
The number exchange might be happening because you both legitimately want to see each other again.
____7____
Make it about you....
Opening with something she's already thinking about, is huge and opens an easy conversation. You can do this if you observe her and what she's doing.
Opening with random shit about you and your agenda, starts you off at a deficit because you're interrupting her flow and showing yourself to be another unobservant dude.
Want to stand out? Pay attention. Actively listen. These things allow you to get into her head.
Appreciate the feedback and thoughts.
