You can always lead by example, as long as you aren't steamrolling or giving a Ted Talk on things. Maybe she's just not that deep, or needs to feel more comfortable to open up? Also, some people are just boring.

That's what a second date is for, you can feel it out again and see if you're getting the same response. If it goes the same way, your options are to stop making an effort to see her and look at other options. You have to determine if your time is worth being bored being around someone.

Lastly, stay friendly with her, you never know what kind of day / week / year people could be having at the time (especially if they are post-breakup, or casually seeing other people). Things could change and the next thing you know she's chasing you instead and opening up more. I've had several people that were total bores at first who opened up later after I let it breathe a bit by just not contacting them anymore.

It depends on what you want man. If you're being picky and you're looking for a girlfriend who will love you for who you are deep inside then yeah, talk about that stuff but if you just want to get laid then you don't need to go deep.
