I was in your situation. That desire to reconnect with those girls came from the fact that I missed the boat on so many opportunities, just out my insecurities.

So, once I got game, I wanted to tag any girl that had dissed me or I had missed by being a shit ass. I went back to my home town a few times (somewhat small), and reached out and ran into several of them. At this point, they are older and have life experience (and not as pretty as city girls), and I'm a catch. It was almost too easy.

I thought I was going to vindicate my old self and come out a champion, but that didn't happen. I walked away feeling empty, feeling I used them to cure my inner self. That's not why I got in the game, it was for fun and pleasure, for myself and especially the girls.

After being with HB7-9s on a solid basis, all I was doing was having sex with old classmates who where a 5-6 at best (even if they had been 9s back in their day). I sometimes even felt sorry for them during sex...

Edit My advice: No need to be more than friends, have a few laughs about teachers and goofy classmates. Do it for the old times, not for your inner self.

Personally i see the messaging an old crush as a bit of a clingy thing. Kinda looks like you didnt move on.

BUT if you see them in public just go and approach them, this way here you can show them that you've done somethings in life and changed.

A friend of mine from high school reached out on facebook, after like twenty years, and now it's more than friends. I think it helped me to peak around his facebook timeline to make sure he was normalish

I'll be honest, last week I messaged a girl I had a crush on in jr high. We were friends outside of the crush, but we haven't talked in like 8 or 9 years, outside of her messaging me once in college because we had a lecture together (like 5 years ago).

We had a nice little convo, just catching up and stuff. I didn't ask her out or anything, but she seemed happy I reconnected and asked me a lot about how I'm doing and things. My "in" was that she's using her formal name on Facebook, whereas she was perpetually known by her nickname in the old days. I just asked about that, then she started asking about me and stuff. I'm gonna message her again at some point probably. And from there, who knows?

I have a feeling this isn't really the question you're asking, because you know that you can just send people a message on social media asking them how they're doing.

If these are girls you've known for awhile and remained in contact with, then your chance has likely passed.

If they're girls you are on good terms with but simply didn't keep in touch with, then send them a message. Ask what they've been up to. If you know of some news in their area where they live that might be impacting them or interesting to them, you could reference that in your message.

The larger issue I see here is that you're so focused on girls you USED to be around and even plotting ahead to whenever you might maybe visit home in the future, at a time that they might also be there.

This implies that you don't have enough going on in your social life, in the here and now. There are a lot of options to get some social life started or revitalize what you have going now.

Hash runs. Trail running + beer + fit people = win
Couchsurfing meets. Hang with travelers and people who like to be around travelers.
Social partner dancing. Salsa, Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Argentine Tango, etc. You really can't go wrong. Learn something fun and have an excuse to be close to a girl in a fun and non-threatening way. (Just respect it as an activity & means of self-improvement first, and place to meet women second.)
Download the Meet-up app. Scan for groups near you that you share an interest with.
Look for groups or events on FB that revolve around an interest you have. You can always scan the membership of the groups or for the event to see who's interested in it.
