Sounds like you're talking about the mystery method idea of meeting HER disinterest with your own.

So you are talking to her and she's not attempting to carry her weight in the conversation. Or maybe she ignores you or whatever. She's showing disinterest, and the idea is that you now need to show your own.

And yes, you're right that there aren't many examples of this, as I searched for this myself about 6 months back.

However, I don't really think it even 'works'. I practiced showing my disinterest on girls who were giving me zero IOI's by doing things i'd read about when I eventually found some answers, such as things like going quiet, or looking at my phone, or simply scanning the room as if to look for more interesting people to talk too.

However, without ATTRACTION it's all pointless, because she'll just eject! It only seems to 'work' and make them chase when they think you are hot!!

You can use push pull by saying things like "You're cool, kinda" or "I like you, a little bit". Or you could say things "You seem cool, but I'm not sure about you yet". Girls use these all the time. Add words like "kinda" or "a little bit" and they will not feel like they completely got you, which is the purpose of it all. You stay challenging, which girls love.

If she isn’t fun just excuse yourself and move. Staying there and looking at your phone when you actually want to talk is just silly. Mystery opened the door to this shit, but a lot of his methods are cringey af. He is like a robot trying to fit in with humans.

That's called push and pull. Criticize her for something you don't like, be blunt.

This only works though by giving her a big compliment first.

"You know you are really really cute, but I also get the impression that you really boring. Is this true or is there something that I haven't seen yet about you."

You can only say that if she is actually a bit boring and you can also only say that by saying she is cute first. That way, you inspire hope and give her something to chase.

After you've done that she will try to prove that she is not boring.

However, this only works if you have somewhat as an "alpha" demeanor and if she sees you as somewhat superior. If you are a nice guy and say this to her, she will think you are an idiot. However, if you lead, tease her a little and are qualifying her, this works like a charm.
