Hard to tell without any context surrounding these conversations but if you’re flirting with them then I think it’s safe to assume that if they’re attempting to reciprocate and are probably using those comments in an attempt to impress you. Showing their worth so to speak in an admittedly poor manner considering your confusion. As to whether they’re douchey, that’s for you to decide depending on the rest of their approach, they could simply be inexperienced.

Interestingly, women bring up other guys all the time but think nothing of it, or at the very least do it innocently. It makes sense, the principle is called Social Proof, people want, what other people want. And people do it because it works. Although there are levels of subtlety that should be observed. A fun excercise might be to say "hey unless you want to hear about the other guys I've had in my life, quit bringing up your ex" lol. Actually the best predictor of future behavior is past behaviour, so observe how he talks about exes.
