Let's face it, dating isn't easy when you are a dude, rejection is almost a given. That's not a easy realization to deal with, nobody enjoys being rejected and it doesn't really help with your confidence. I once went through almost 3 years without any action (was rejected by a couple of girls), its really crippling on your confidence. The only thing that helped through it was the fact that a couple of girls had liked me in the past, so its fair to assume that there are a couple more. So, I thought I should share what I learned from my experiences with girls and dating with my brothers here who are struggling in that regard.

1.Self-improvement- This, I think is the most important advice anyone can possibly give you. Improve yourself, like my man Joe Rogan says, 'Just become the guy that you pretend to be when you are trying to fuck a girl'.

*Workout(regularly)- You don't have get ripped or anything although that certainly will help, but lets face it most of us don't have the time, motivation or money to look like Hugh Jackman. Working out has always been a sort of a confidence booster for me. Not only do you improve your shape and posture but doing it regularly also instills discipline, something that's likely to affect other facets of your life, positively. You can do whatever suits you running, lifting, swimming, yoga. Whatever floats your boat.

*Read- If you don't already have this habit growing up. it might be a difficult one to develop but the results are phenomenal. Give yourself targets every month (number of books to read), you don't have to read Plato or Thomas Hobbes, keep those for later. Start by whatever interests you. Like Sci-fi, read Ready Player One, fantasy, read Gentlemen Bastards or The Kingkiller chronicles. Head over to /r/books and ask if you are still in doubt. You become more articulate (that is if you aren't reading Fifty Shades of Grey) and something that I have noticed is girls are willing to compromise on how you look, but very few girls want to date dumb guys, unless you look like David Beckham. That's just rule 1 and 2 though.

*Get into different hobbies- Playing Video games is awesome, it seriously is, but you need to branch out a little bit. I hadn't upgraded my system in a while so it stopped supporting most of the new games forcing me to look into other stuff to pass my time or upgrade my system, which wasn't really an option because I was broke. So, I picked up the Guitar which had been gathering dust. I just wanted to play the solo to Eric Clapton's Layla but it certainly helped me with dating. Anyone will be impressed if you can play their favorite song.

The beauty of living in today's day and age is that, you can almost teach yourself anything because of the internet. It can be any instrument. Although I have noticed that guys who take up an instrument with the sole motive of impressing girls usually flake out. It can be any hobby where you aren't just a consumer, if its a group activity that's even better because that improves your chances of meeting ladies. I was in the drama club in High School, I joined because i genuinely liked acting but I wasn't expecting to get flooded with female attention, because drama clubs are mostly filled with girls, most of them pretty good looking and very few straight guys so you kind of bump up two points on the attractiveness scale. But this is all out of my own experiences, I'm sure there are a lot of better hobbies out there.

  1. Grooming- I kind of discovered this late, but it makes a tremendous difference. Personally, I don't really care much about grooming, afterall we are men, we are supposed to hunt and make war. But its a different world out there, so it adapt or die. You don't have to wear suits or spend bucketload of money on clothes, just get the ones that fit, I have always worn a size too big because as a kid my mother would always buy clothes that I would grow into hence that is what I became comfortable with. Didn't help me with dating. Just neat and pressed clothes, I had no idea how much girls noticed these things till my girlfriend once pointed how I never iron my clothes, that one hurt. That and taking care of your hair. Unkempt hair only looks good if you are a ten, but lets face it. Everything looks good when you are a 10.

Now, you might argue that a girl should like you for who you are and you shouldn't have to put up false facades. That's very true but this is sort of a way to send the message that you like them enough to put in the effort. These little things go a long way.

  1. Don't grovel, whine or neg- Seriously, its unbecoming. Women appreciate strength. That's not saying that you need to bottle up your emotions. But I have heard it from my girlfriend, a couple of exes, some female friends, some female friends of my girlfriend and exes, my sister, my sister's friends. Its mostly unanimous, whiny men are an instant turn off.

As for negging seriously don't do that, I know from experience that it works. But you shouldn't resort to this sort of emotional manipulation. Its a myth that girls don't go out with nice guys, they don't go out with guys from /r/niceguys. Be nice and respectable, they already have it quite hard.

  1. Lower your standards- This one is always unpopular, everyone wants to date 9s and 10s but if you an inexperienced guy, you have to realize that you have to compete with a truckload of guys with varying degrees of experience.

I'm not saying that you have to date people you are not attracted to, regardless of what anyone says I feel physical attraction is pretty important. You are eventually going to get bored of smashing a 10 if looking good is the only thing that she brings to the table. I used to think that was bullshit but it's true. Also one thing that I have noticed is when you are in a relationship you get to learn a lot about the opposite sex and girls on average have more dating experience than us. So, having prior experience helps when you are being manipulated or taken advantage of.

  1. I think this one is the most important advice, don't let the fear of rejection stop you. Getting rejected sucks. But you know what sucks more sitting in your room and jerking off to porn. But don't let rejection go to waste, analyse them, look at patterns, think of what you did wrong. Sometimes, getting rejected gets overwhelming and all you wanna do speak to somebody about it, feel free to PM me. Hope this helps. Happy Smashing!!
