So long story short, my family has a friend that is a hair stylist. She’s known me for almost 7 years now and calls herself my asian mom. Over that time that she’s known me, she hasn’t liked a single girl I have dated at all so she’s trying to help me find a girl (that she approves of). When she does the hair of a hot girl she tells them all about me and asks them if she can give me their number. I don’t really like the idea of her helping me find girls because I have a pretty fine time on my own and it feels way more awkward than just approaching a girl. However, she picks extremely hot girls so I don’t object too much.

The main issue I have is I feel awkward as fuck when it happens. I’ll get a text out of the blue that is a pic of some girl with a phone number and my Asian mom telling me to call her.

How the fuck do I transition from that? My text game is weak af and I can’t shake the awkward feeling from it. Any tips especially to starting a conversation that works? I’m rock solid at dates but starting conversations especially out of the blue (like this) is my weak point.
